OUR PROCESS

The first step is to think about a character or a central theme of the fragrance.  Then describe in detail the feelings I want the perfume to evoke and start painting a vivid picture of the image in my mind. Once all the details are written down, a variety of feelings, colors, surroundings, attitude, and texture emerge.

For example:

I want a perfume to evoke a carefree and romantic feeling. I picture a woman that is delicate and elegant, but at the same time, she is confident and strong. She isn’t over the top done when she goes out. She is fun, flirty, and sporty, and her hair isn’t perfect. She doesn’t seem to have a care in the world. She’s right by the ocean, sitting on the rocks of the quaint, cove beach. Her soft curls caressed by the wind. 

Looks like she’s ready to go to a party. She’s wearing a long, champagne colored dress, and she’s sporting her tiny but sparkly tiara. Her soft makeup enhances her beautiful features and her hair is a bit rustled by the wind.

She’s sitting on the rocks, letting herself be enveloped by the sound of the waves and the smell of the salty air. She doesn’t care that her dress is fancy, she’s a bit of a tomboy and she's enjoying this moment. 

She has a wistful smile on her face. She’s beautiful, carefree, and happy. 

The second step is to go back to the description and extract the words I want to work with and write a brief.

After I have the raw materials I need for this particular perfume, I contact my providers and procure first from small farms. Some of these farmers have been in businesses that have been passed down from generation to generation. Some are small, some a little bigger, but regardless, every ingredient is ethically grown, and harvested. Employees are paid fairly and none of the materials going in a Marbella perfume is EVER endangered or tested on animals.

Every single material comes with a certificate of analysis. That means that it’s pure and unaltered. All the chemical components are listed, which is critical when mixing with safety guidelines in mind. 

 The final step is safety. 

At Marbella, safety is at the top of our priorities.  We go through rigorous testing to ensure that safety limits are not violated. We operate within IFRA’s safety guidelines, which are one of the most rigorous in the world. 

The end result truly is “Where Nature Meets Luxury”. 

What does this mean?

Imagine hiking in Ireland where there are so many shades of green you never even knew existed. It’s luscious and rugged. Wild beauty. Simple yet complex. 

Untamed beauty right in front of your eyes.

So hard to escape!

At the end of the day, you’re tired, maybe even sore after walking and biking uphill. Not to mention coming down the cliffs on a bike --- you just hope the breaks hold. 

Or maybe you decide not to go all the way to the top, because frankly you have no idea how you’ll get down. So you sit down at one of the two tables in front of the mom and pop cafe and order one of the 5 items on their daily menu.

And you sip your hot chocolate, enjoying the sun on a cool, breezy day. You’re grateful it’s not raining that day, but even if it was, the beauty would still hold, just in another dimension. 

At the end of the day you come to sleep in an Irish castle. In true castle style, your name is announced at the entrance. Picture this…  “The DODDS ARE HERE”!! 

That’s what it will feel like when you receive your package. A regal announcement of an unforgettable experience…
